The collision occurred at around midnight at the intersection of Bushard Street and Warner Avenue, at a crossing near a 405 Freeway on-ramp. The driver sped away.
According to Fountain Valley police, officers arrived to find a woman dead at the scene. She was not immediately identified.
It’s unclear if the woman was in a crosswalk when she was hit, police said.
