The Senior HCMS Solutions Analyst ensures project execution meets or exceeds expectations, and delivers quality requirements on time and within budget through a defined project methodology. Responsibilities will include project management for identified initiatives related to Workday and other HR systems, including coordinating with partners in IT and the PMO, and managing the cross functional HR project team. This position will act as a key contributor in MGM Resorts International’s Human Capital Management Solutions organization through functional and technical requirements capture, design collaboration, testing support, and project management. Core responsibilities include capturing high-level customer functional requirements, analyzing business processes, and supporting design, build, and test execution of related business solutions. The Analyst collaborates with all technology disciplines, business partners, and vendors to analyze, define, and develop solutions in support of the organization.
  • Act as liaison between end-users, application architects, project team members, information technology, business stakeholders etc., to ensure what is being deployed will successfully deliver on the business goals.
  • Lead workshops and discovery sessions with all relevant business stakeholders to understand root causes of business pain points, to capture detailed requirements of potential changes to business and/or IT processes, and to juxtapose with current application state capabilities.
  • Translate discovery and design sessions into detailed requirements documents, process workflow diagrams and other documentation to ensure clear and complete understanding for solution delivery and testing.
  • Analyze the relationships between project segments, identifying the critical path, business risk tolerance, and key scheduling and technical dependencies.
  • Support development of training materials for end-users, business power users, and technical support. Assist with creation and maintenance of technical documentation including data flow documentation and technical specifications for both functional configuration and technical integrations.
  • Assist business users in translating requirements and use cases into test scenarios and expected results for unit testing, system performance testing, regression testing, and end to end testing.,
  • Support cost benefit analyses, ROI, and other financial analyses for identified strategic initiatives and milestone projects. Assist functional areas with creation of business case justifications for strategic initiatives, milestone projects, and ongoing production support.
  • Identify and support execution of process improvement opportunities through simultaneous knowledge of business functions and technological system capabilities.
  • Decompose complex projects into a project plan and timeline of actionable activities to successfully deliver the project on time and within budget.
  • Establish and monitor key project health indicators and proactively act to bring a challenged project back on schedule and back on budget.
  • Develop the project turnover specifications to successfully move the developed solution to the production environment.
  • Understand customer dynamics and needs at all levels (end-user to executive).
  • Excel at taking initiative to meet objectives and delivers on all deadlines and project commitments.
  • Perform other job related duties as requested.
Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Human Resources, business management, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
  • At least 6 years of experience functioning in a lead role on enterprise-level Human Resources technology projects of increasing complexity.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms. 
Preferred
  • At least 4 years of experience utilizing Workday core HCM and/or Recruiting modules.
  • PMP Certification.
  • Experience with standard project management methodologies such as Waterfall and Agile.
  • Expert level experience in Microsoft Office Suite, including Visio, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
